There are no obvious differences in the set-up other than I just did an upgrade rather than a clean install of High Sierra.MacOS High Sierra is packed with new features and refinements. On my Mac mini, I have High Sierra and Java is working fine. This is particularly frustrating as I need Java to work in order to access my work remote access solution. I've amended the settings under Safari to trust the website and even run applets in Unsafe mode, still not working.
Uninstalled and reinstalled Java and yet no joy. I've checked the firewall settings on the Mac. When I open the Java Control Panel I can see Java is enabled in the browser, the version number is showing fine yet when I hit Check for updates, I get an error message stating Unable to check for Java updates. When I try the Java test applet then I get an error "FailedDownloadException".Īlso, Java is showing in System Preferences. I have installed the latest JDK 8u152 from the Oracle site.
I now cannot get Java applets under Safari to work. Completely wiped the disk and installed from scratch. I recently did a clean install of High Sierra.
